Gaudiya Vaisnavas observe all visnu-tattva appearance days along with special fasting. Sometimes these days come next to each other or next to an Ekadasi or Dvadasi tithi which is meant for fasting. This happens every year somewhere in the world for Lord Varaha Dvadasi and Lord Nityananda Trayodasi, but not at all locations due to different sunrise times.

Today is a very auspicious day – the birthday of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. Last week we observed the appearance day of Mahavisnu, Advaita Acarya, and today we are observing the appearance day of Nityananda Prabhu.

Having taken the intrinsic mood and beauty of Srimati Radhika, Sri Krsna is now Sacinandana Gaurahari. His elder brother Baladeva Prabhu, the son of Rohini devi, who was playing with Sri Krsna in Vraja, is now Nityananda Prabhu.

Nityananda is jagat-guru, guru of the universe. He is personally Baladeva Prabhu, (the first expansion of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.)
