The essence of all scriptures such as the Vedas, Vedānta-sūtras, Purāṇas, Itihāsas and so on is Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. By the churning of this Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam the present book has manifested. Therefore, its name is Śrī Bṛhad-Bhāgavatāmṛta. In this book, the subject matters pertaining to devotional service are manifest in every place.
The setting is based on a conversation between Śrī Jaimini and Śrī Janamejaya and Śrī Parīkṣit and Śrī Uttara. On hearing Śrīmad- Bhāgavatam from the mouth of Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī and before the arrival of the Takṣaka serpent, the mother of King Parīkṣit, Śrī Uttara-devī, asked him a question, “O Son, whatever you have heard from Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī, tell me its essence in a simple, easy-to-understand language.” This book begins with that same question.

Sri Caitanya Caritamrta, manifested by Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami, is the crown jewel of Gaudiya Vaishnava literature. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada had once said that if for some reason all the Vaishnava literature, except Sri Caitanya Caritamrta, disappear from this world, still the deliverance of the entire world would be possible, due to the presence of this glorious scripture. Sri Caitanya Caritamrta has three parts—Adi-Lila, Madhya-Lila and Antya-Lila. The present edition is the English translation of the original Sri Caitanya Caritamrta in Bengali, published by Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti Trust. In this edition, not only the three commentaries ('Amrta Pravaha Bhasya' of Srila Bhakti Vinoda Thakur, 'Anubhasya' commentary of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada, and 'Amrtanukana' commentary of Sri Bhaktivedanta Vamana Gosvami Maharaja) from the original Bengali edition of GVST have been included but along with that a special commentary, 'Amrtanukanika' as instructed by Srila Gurudeva, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja, has been added. This commentary is based on the relevant articles from Gaudiya Patrika and some books provided by Srila Gurudeva from his library and his lectures, which makes this edition all the more magnificent.
This first volume discusses the in-depth ontological details of six principles (Guru, Isa-bhaktas, Isvara, Isavatara, Isa-prakasam, and Isa-sakti) each having distinct features which are diversities of the same Absolute Truth. Additionally, the reasons for the appearance of Sri Krsna as Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu are also explained

This book is an anthology of verses written by many different poets who lived in different centuries and in different parts of India. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī gathered all these poems and wove them together, creating an extraordinarily rich brocaded tapestry. The result is a treasury of unending delight that sheds light on the highest, most confidential moods of Vraja. Padyāvalī is one of Rūpa Gosvāmī’s earlier books, and is considered by some to be his most important one. Why? Because herein is the first recording of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s Śrī Śikṣāṣṭakam, and Śrī Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja took it from here for his Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta.

Guru-seva is the backbone of bhajana, or devotional absorption. Whoever wants to enter into the realm of bhajana must first dedicate his life to the service of a bona fide guru. Such a guru will never consider the disciple to be his or her own property. Rather, he will consider the disciple to belong to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the Divine Couple, Sri Sri Radha-Krsna. He will transfer the disciple's attachment and dedication to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Radha-Krsna. Whoever reads this work, will obtain a clear conception of the subject of the guru in Gaudiya Vaisnava thought. For those eager to attain bhakti, this book is therefore a lighthouse that guides the aspirant to spiritual perfection. Without guru-seva, no one can advance in Krsna consciousness.

It is our great pleasure to present this edition of Rāsa-pañcādhyāyī, taken from the Tenth Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. This book is born out of the causeless mercy and inspiration of our most worshipable gurupāda-padma, ācārya keśarī nitya-līlā praviṣṭa oṁ viṣṇupāda aṣṭottara-śata Śrī Śrīmad Bhakti Prajñāna Keśava Gosvāmī Mahārāja. We have included our ācāryas’ commentaries: Śrīla Śrīdhāra Svāmīpāda’s Bhāvārtha Dīpikā, which Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu accepted, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmīpāda’s Saṅkṣepa Vaiṣṇava Toṣaṇī, and Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura’s Sārārtha Darśinī. Furthermore, we have written our own Bhāvānuvāda explanation based on the three ācāryas’ elucidations. There were many Bengali translations of these three commentaries, but there was nothing in Hindi. I hope that the Hindi-speaking public will be able to relish our Rāsa-pañcādhyāyī with the commentaries. ( This English version is a translation from the Hindi version by Sevā Kuñja Publications. )

About 500 devotees attended the festival, which was organized by the association of all the Gaudiya Mathas in Vraja, the Vraja Sarasvata Gaudiya Vaisnava Sangha. Every year the association publishes a magazine in Hindi with Srila Prabhupada's lectures and letters. This is the first year that the magazine, which is distributed for free, was translated into English.
