Giriraja Svami: “In 1977, when Guru Maharaja (Srila AC Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupada) was to leave this world, some of us felt little angry towards Krsna that He is taking Guru Maharaja away from us. So, what is the proper Vaisnava attitude?”
Srila Gurudeva: You have heard that a ‘Siddha Guru’ [self realised guru] who is an associate of Krsna, does not go anywhere. But the question is that, you want to have Prabhupada with you and Krsna wants that ‘My gopi should come in my rasa-sthali [where rasa lila takes place] and to take part in rāsa…There is one gopi lacking and she should come’. If she goes there, you should be glad or you should be sorry for her? He has gone to Krsna.
So why are you suffering? Oh! You are suffering for your loss. You are not seeing the gain of your Gurudeva.
We should see that our Gurudeva is glad. But we see that whether our Gurudeva is glad or not, but yet he should be with us. This is not bhakti. It is selfishness. You should not be selfish.
But yet it is not unjustified to weep because we see that Raghunatha das Gosvami was also weeping for Rupa Gosvami. So you are weeping for your Gurudeva. So Krsna will see that - Oh! He is very much attached to his Gurudeva, My near and dear.
